Plan takeoff
Measure it on the drawings. It’s in the estimate.
Areas, lengths and counts, measured right on the PDF and snapped to its lines. Every card totals itself and fills the estimate line it prices, so nothing gets typed twice.
A quick tour: ten things to know
Click any step, or use Next, and the part of the screen it’s about lights up.

Drop in the drawing set
Start a takeoff on its own or on a project, and add one PDF or the whole set at once. On a project, the drawings already uploaded to the estimate are one click away. Big sets open on the first sheet while the rest is still loading.
With a project, or on its own
You don’t need a project to measure something. Open the takeoff, add a PDF and start.
Standalone takeoff
Just measure it
A quick takeoff outside any project: a change order, a pricing question from a client, checking a sub’s quantities, a job you’re not bidding yet.
- No project or estimate to set up first
- Yours: only you can change it
- Every tool, scale and card, the same as on a project
- Becomes a real job? Move it into a project and link its cards to that estimate
Project takeoff
Measure it into the estimate
A takeoff on a project, shared with everyone on its team and tied to its estimate.
- Uses the drawings already uploaded to the estimate
- Cards link to estimate lines; measured quantities flow in
- Outline the work area to set the square footage
- Estimators on the project edit; the rest of the team can view
And a few more
Nine tools
Select, pan, count, linear, polyline, area, rectangle, perimeter and volume, plus calibrate. Each has a one-letter key.
Built for big sets
Sheets draw sharp at any zoom without slowing down, and a set you’ve opened once opens instantly the next time.
Looks like your markups
8 colors, 6 line weights, 9 drafting line types and shading, set per tool or per selection. Layers you can show and hide.
A project’s takeoffs, together
A project can have as many takeoffs as you need (one per trade, one per phase), and they all feed the same estimate.
The right people can change it
Estimators on the project edit; everyone else on it can open, pan, zoom and read the totals.
Back to the estimate
“Measure on the drawings” in the estimate opens the project’s takeoff, and “Back to estimate” returns you to the same step.
Try it on a set you’re bidding now.
Request early access and we’ll take off one of your own jobs together.
